EJIU – BERN ROUND ROBIN 2024
23 November 2024

The European Jiu-Jitsu League (EJIU) is hosting a special tournament in Bern in 2024. EJIU is a jiu-jitsu league focused on improving the sport in Europe. They organize tournaments in cities like Barcelona, Zurich, and Geneva. This event in Bern is part of their effort to grow jiu-jitsu in Switzerland, with help from the Swiss Jiu-Jitsu Association.
Tournament Format
The tournament offers two types of competition: GI and NOGI. The GI division uses a single-elimination system, where losing means you’re out. The NOGI division follows a round-robin format, so everyone competes in at least four matches. If there’s a tie, the winner is chosen based on points or head-to-head results. This ensures a fair and fun experience for all competitors.
Rules
The tournament follows the AJPTOUR ruleset. You can find more details about the rules and match durations under the “Rules” tab on the event page.
- GI competitors will weigh in while wearing their full GI uniform.
- NOGI competitors will weigh in wearing NOGI attire.
Competition Options
You can compete in both GI and NOGI, or just one:
- GI: Single elimination, 5-minute rounds
- NOGI: Round-robin, 5-minute rounds
Both formats follow the AJP ruleset for consistency.
