EJIU – YVERDON ROUND ROBIN

This June 15th and 16th, competitors will have the opportunity to battle it out in Yverdon-les-Bains at the Centre Sportif des Îles. The EJIU has not really impressed with well organized tournaments so far, but we hope that this one is better. The tournament features a dual format: a single elimination bracket for GI competitors and a round-robin style for NOGI. This means more fights for everyone, as each athlete will participate in at least four matches, ensuring a full display of skills and strategies.

Divisions and Rules

Competitors can look forward to contests in both gi and no-gi divisions. Matches will be governed by the AJP ruleset, with bouts lasting five minutes each. Here’s a quick breakdown of the divisions:

• Kids & Juvenile: Beginner (White & Grey Belt), Intermediate (Yellow and Up)
• Adult & Master: Beginner (White Belt), Advanced (Blue, Purple Belt), Professional (Purple, Brown, Black Belt)

Registration and Weigh-Ins

Mark your calendars for the registration deadlines:

• Early Bird: April 17 – May 14
• Normal Registration: May 14 – May 30
• Late Registration: May 30 – June 11

Weigh-ins will be conducted in full gi for the gi competitors and in no-gi gear for those competing in both divisions. Detailed information about the weigh-in process can be found on our website.

Prizes include €400 for winners in the professional categories and exclusive EJIU medals for the top three in each division. Not to mention, the thrilling OPEN CLASS competitions for those who qualify by placing on the podium in their respective categories.
