Rigi Open 2024

The Rigi Open 2024, a Ne-Waza/BJJ tournament tailored for beginners, set against a spectacular backdrop. The event will take place on September 14 at Schulhaus Bühlmatt, Meierskappelstrasse 7, 6044 Udligenswil. Doors open at 08:00 AM, with the event starting at 09:00 AM.

This beginner-friendly competition adheres to JJIF Ne-Waza rules and welcomes BJJ competitors up to blue belt and JJ competitors up to brown belt. The tournament features professional judges, excellent facilities, and a stunning setting. Advanced competitors such as Judo black belts and BJJ purple belts are advised to find another tournament. Competitors will wear JJIF/IBJJF-approved gis in red and blue belt colors.

This is a great competition for beginners who are looking to get some competition experience. Every year, a group of white and sometimes blue belts from the BJJ Lab in Zürich goes to the Rigi Open to compete and support the swiss tournament organized by BSVU.

Admission for spectators is free. Competitors must register online as no registrations will be accepted on the day of the event. The competitor list will be available live under the “Registration” tab during the signup process.

Changes to divisions can be made within a published timeframe after registration closes. For adjustments, visit this support link. After the change deadline, competitors without opponents in their category may be merged with other categories, though genders will not be mixed.

Weigh-ins occur on the day of the event from 08:00 AM, and competitors must meet their registered weight, or they will be disqualified.

Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded, and each competitor will receive a tournament gift. Medical personnel will be on-site for emergencies, and warm-up mats are available in the basement dojo.

Scoreboards beside the mats will display current scores, names, and club affiliations. Medals are presented on a podium immediately after each category concludes, with competitors wearing their gis.
